Re: This year's All-SEC team would beat..
I know the Lions went 0-16 last year. I think we will agree they will be better this year. Last year they had chances to win. here are a few that were close
Vikings - lost by 2. score 12-10
Texans - lost by 7. score 28-21
Skins - lost by 8. score 25-17
Bears - lost by 4. score 27-23
Panthers by 9. score 22-31
Vikings - lost by 4. score 20-16
Colts by 10 & Packers by 10. score in both games 31-21.

Just like the Fins the year before at 1-15, they were in a lot of games. not only that but in games against some playoff teams.
I guess we will disagree.
Re: This year's All-SEC team would beat..
The Lions would kill an all SEC Team. I really can't believe this is even being discussed.
Re: This year's All-SEC team would beat..
You're crazy.
Let's look at this;
How many players on that team, do you think will be potential NFL Pro Bowlers from the All-SEC team? now the Lions?
How many starters will come from the All-SEC team? Now, how many of Detroit's starters would be starters on any other NFL team?
Now, how many players from the All-SEC team will be washouts from the NFL in five years. How many current starters from the Lions will be out of the NFL in five years?
Re: This year's All-SEC team would beat..
IMO, Any NFL team would dominate the NCAA All-America team, much less the All Sec team.
If they were to play 2 series a piece then maybe the college teams would have a chance, but you gotta realize the starters aren't the only ones that play. NFL players would just beat down the smaller college players.
Every player in the NFL was somewhat of a star at their college, you might have better talent starting but an NFL team is going to bring in people just as good behind the starters.

This is as absurd as these folks who say that a good high school team could beat a bad college team:confused:. Seriously folks
Re: This year's All-SEC team would beat..
do you guys just not want to even consider it, or are you considering it fully, and dismissing it?
an All-American team almost always has the first 30 picks in the next years NFL draft.
lets look at it this way;
would a team with only the most highly rated rookies beat the Lions?
Re: This year's All-SEC team would beat..
your smokeing crack rocks if you think the all american team could play with the lions back ups.
its just a step above.

OK, pull up a draft class. take the 2000 class. That will give 8 full years of playing in the NFL. excluding injury reasons take a look and the top 30 draft picks and see how "GREAT" these top 30 picks have panned out.
I think you under estimate how big of a jump it is from college star to NFL player, and a bigger leap from college star to NFL starter
